Lemons are violent little fruit.
The smallest bit of juice on your tongue twists your face up grotesquely.
The citric acid eats away at your hard-earned tooth enamel.
I won't even begin to describe the exquisite pain if you get sprayed in the eye while juicing one.
This pretty pink watermelon lemonade is punch-you-in-the-face-only-to-apologize kind of violent.
The tanginess of the lemon aggressively grabs your taste buds, and the cool watermelon soothes and refreshes.
It's delicious masochism.

Watermelon Lemonade - (fills one large pitcher)
2 cups fresh lemon juice (from about 12 to 15 lemons, or unfiltered lemon juice)
2 cups simple syrup
1 cup pureed watermelon - strained through a sieve
2-3 cups cold water, sparkling water, or other sparkling beverage (I mixed in some lemon-lime soda with tasty results!)
Ice, for serving
Combine lemon juice, simple syrup in a large pitcher. Add water or sparkling beverage to taste. Let chill in the refrigerator until chilled, and serve over ice. Enjoy! ♥
Simple Syrup:
2 cups granulated sugar
1 cup water
Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan and simmer until sugar is dissolved - approximately 5 minutes. Let cool.
♥ Extra simple syrup is the perfect sweetener for your iced tea or coffee.
♥ Mix equal parts watermelon lemonade and iced tea for a fruity twist on an Arnold Palmer!
